We invite you to join us and we welcome you to bring a friend!

Julie and I recently returned from a week long Insight Trip to Guatemala with the nonprofit, Friendship Bridge. While we were there we had the opportunity to learn firsthand about what Friendship Bridge does in Guatemala to support and empower women. It was a really profound experience! We were welcomed into the home studios and stores (“tiendas”) of women artisans and business owners who are recipients of microloans from Friendship Bridge. We were able to watch them weave and hear stories about the opportunities that Friendship Bridge has brought to their lives. Many women spoke about how grateful they are to now have the financial ability to have their children attend or stay in school. We also heard stories from women who are now able to afford a home and land. These women and their stories inspire us to work even harder to support Friendship Bridge because their work is making a big difference in the lives of many women and families.

Guatemala is a beautiful country. On our trip we visited rural villages that surround Lake Atitlan and went to the famous “Chichi Market”. We traveled on many dusty trails – by bus, Tuktuk, car (standing in the bed of a pickup truck), boat and foot. Friendship Bridge’s Guatemalan headquarters are in the town of Panajachel. Julie and I purchased beautiful woven ponchos, shawls, beaded jewelry & pouches and more to sell to help our Boulder Circle raise money for Friendship Bridge. I made purchases for Bella Frida including exquisite huipils, corte skirts, tops and shawls to sell to my customers. We feel good about having had the ability to buy directly from the artists and to better understand the time and expertise involved in creating these items. We are so excited to show you these beautiful, hand crafted treasures and to share some stories of our trip. We hope to see you there!
